Drugstore Foundations You Need to Try

Drugstore Foundations You Need to Try

Cheap Foundations and BB Creams UK and Korean

I feel like great Drugstore foundations are the backbone of the beauty world. Although I love high-end foundations, and I’m currently on the hunt for my perfect match, you can’t beat getting a bit of bang for your buck. Whenever I buy a high-end foundation, I can’t justify slapping it on my face everyday, so I always like to have a great drugstore foundation in reserve.

So, I have put together a little list of some drugstore foundations that I adore, and that you should definitely try! Some are classics, beloved by many bloggers out there, but never fear, there are a few wildcards too!

No7 Beautifully Matte Light Foundation

This foundation is one that literally does everything it says on the tin. I love it so much that I featured it in both my Holiday Makeup Bag Essentials and my post about Makeup Brands I Want to Explore More. This is a Matte, stay all day, oil free foundation. It looks beautifully natural on the skin and has a really great amount of coverage despite the fact that it claims to be ‘light’. Despite being SPF 15, it doesn’t feel cakey or heavy on the skin, which is what makes it so perfect for the summer.

This foundation is hypo-allergenic, and because I have sensitive skin, it is perfect for me! I have the shade ‘Warm Ivory’ which you can probably guess is way too dark for my natural skin tone. I actually bought this as a foundation to use when I have fake tan on. But honestly, I love it so much that I am going to buy it in another colour.

So, if your in need of a lightweight foundation with a good amount of coverage, then this could be the one for you!

No7 and Bourjois Drugstore Foundations Matte and Dewy

Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation

Every now and again, a product does the rounds in the blogger community and everyone is talking about it. And the Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation was one of these products. I basically only bought this foundation because everyone was speaking so highly about it. Honestly, at first I wasn’t sure about it. The finish of this foundation is way more dewy than I was used to. But now I have had some time to adjust, I really love it.

This foundation claims to be ‘Anti-fatigue’, so it is great for perking the skin up when it is looking a bit dull and lifeless. As well as this, it contains Vitamins C, E and B5 which are all fantastic for making sure you have a healthy complexion. So it helps to nourish your skin, unlike a lot of other foundations that are purely for coverage purposes.

I would say that this is actually half way between a matte and dewy finish. It is great for dull skin because it isn’t completely matte and therefore won’t make your skin look flat. Essentially, it is just dewy enough to give your skin a healthy glow, without sliding all over your face! This foundation has a bit more of a yellow undertone. So if you’re pale like me, then this foundation is great when you have a bit more of a summer glow.

Max Factor Lasting Performance Foundation

This is a foundation that I have repurchased time and time again. It is no joke when they say this has a lasting performance because it seriously does not budge. It lasts all day, which is perfect for me because I never top up my makeup throughout the day, because why should I have to? If a product claims to last all day, I expect it to do so. And this foundation really comes through on it’s promises.

This foundation has a matte, natural finish but it doesn’t make your skin look too flat. I actually like to combine this foundation with the Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation to create my perfect shade. As this colour is slightly paler, it is great for highlighting the high points of my face to act as a base for any highlight.

Max Factor Etude House Korean Beauty Makup

Etude House Precious Mineral BB Cream: Blooming Fit

This is a bit of a wildcard, as it isn’t technically a drugstore foundation. However, it is reasonably priced and can be purchased on amazon. So I thought I would include it anyway. Korean BB Creams are known for having a very dewy finish, and this BB Cream is no exception. However, it is no surprise when it is SPF 30 and PA++.

Although this is a BB Cream, the coverage is incredible. It is one of those foundations that is perfect when you are in a rush. Which is why I included it in my Essential Makeup for Busy Days post. The great thing about this product is that the application is ver forgiving. You can slap it on with your fingers and it will still look fabulous. I love to use this product when I am having a better skin day and I don’t want to put a heavy duty foundation on.

What are some of your favourite Drugstore Foundations? I’m always up for trying new products, so I would love to know down in the comments!

YASSSSS girl no 7 matte foundation is THE ONE! i always feel like i’m ‘wasting’ my more expensive make up if i pop a little on to go to the shops, so i bought this as a pop-to-the-shops base, and fell in love with it! the coverage is awrsome and it’s really great at actually keeping you matte, unlike other ones i’ve tried before. no 7 are killin’ it recently for sure ♥

I know I bought it for exactly the same reason! It is so lovely and I never hear anyone talking about it! I definitely have to pick up one that actually matches my skin colour though, unfortunately summer is gone and I’m no longer bronzed 🙂

I love the Healthy Mix Foundation, it is one of those products that jsut works perfectly with my skin type. I am forever moving away from it then eventually ending up right back at it!
