Another month, another favourites. This one is going to be short and sweet because I feel like I was sooo busy last month that I didn’t really had time to have any June favourites. Basically, I’ve been slammed with work and packing to move into my new house in Leeds, all while planning and going on my holiday. Which is why this post is a bit late, (but only a little bit!).
So, without any more rambling, here are a few things that I just couldn’t get enough of in June!
Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation
I feel like it got to the point where every drugstore products related post or YouTube video I was watching recommended this foundation, so I had to try it for myself. Foundation is usually one of the products where I splash a bit more cash for something more high-end. But, I was in-between foundations and needed something to tide me over. So I thought why not see what all the fuss is about?
The hype surrounding this product is real and I have actually really enjoyed using it! Although it is a high coverage foundation, the formula doesn’t feel too thick and it doesn’t feel like it’s clogging up your skin. It gives the skin a lovely dewy finish which is perfect for summer.
Although I’m usually more of a matte finish kind of gal, I found that once I had a bit of powder on, I wasn’t mad at the finish of this foundation! Although I would warn that if like me, you’re used to a matte-finish or even a lighter coverage, to be wary of how much product you use. When I first got this, I made the mistake of slathering it all over my face and I would 100% not recommend doing that. Now, I use half a pump with a damp sponge to thin out the product a bit more. That way, it doesn’t feel like it’s sliding off my face.
Riemann P20 Once a Day Sun Protection Factor 30
Yes, I’m about to get all preachy about SPF. So, if you’re already clued in on the wonders of p20, then I’ll allow you to skip this one. Unfortunately, I’m not one of those lucky people who tans really easily. My skin is incredibly fair and will burn even in England. Which is actually quite an achievement. Usually, I use a bog standard sun cream when I’m on holiday. But, I always feel like they leave my skin feeling horrible and sticky, and I have to re-apply every few hours. Basically, it takes away from the fun you should be having while you’re away!
So, I bought P20 because of its high levels of protection against both UVA and UVB, as well as the fact that it is advertised as being a ‘once a day’ sun protection.
PSA: if you go in the water, or you get really sweaty, you will have to reapply.
Truth be told; this was actually one of the best sunscreens I have ever used. Although I did burn a little bit when I was away, that was completely my fault. (I never learn.) But the application was really easy seeing as it’s a spray. It’s actually an oily consistency and I swear that helped me tan a little bit. But it sinks into the skin really easily, so you don’t feel sticky all day. If you’re an avid sun protection user like me, then this is something you need for your upcoming holiday.
Kikki.K A6 Bonded Leather Notebook: Lovely
Kikki.K is fast becoming one of my favourite stationary brands. I love a good notebook and this one definitely ticks that box. It’s leather and hardback and everything I have ever dreamed of. I don’t have much more to say about it than that, but I am definitely going to get more stuff from their shop next time I’m in London! You can shop the whole range of Kikki.K notebooks here.
Vita Liberata pHenomenal 2-3 Tan Mousse: Fair
This tanning mousse is the stuff of dreams for those of us in the world that suck at fake tanning. I always find that using a mousse is so much easier than a spray or a gradual tan. They are less streaky because you can instantly see where you have applied the product. What I love most about this product though is the colour. Because I am so pale, I have always found that a lot of fake tans, regardless of how expensive they are, make my skin look slightly orange. But I don’t have that problem with this tan. I would say that it has more of a nut-brown undertone. It looks really natural.
My only criticism of this product would be that it doesn’t last 2-3 weeks. I can stretch it out to 2 maybe, but that’s at a push. But even so, I think it is definitely worth the splurge!
If you want to know more about how to fake your way to a summer glow, then read my post about it here! I talk about my favourite fake tanning products and some tips and tricks for using them.
Sleek Makeup Power Plump Lip Crayon: Notorious Nude
I got this lip crayon in last month’s Glossy Box and I am obsessed with it. It is the perfect nude for my lips. When you first apply it, your lips have a tingling sensation as they get plumped up. Although I couldn’t vouch for whether this actually makes your lips look any plumper, I do really love the colour and the formula. The formula is very smooth and semi-matte. But, even though it has a velvety matte finish, it doesn’t dry out your lips or sink into any lines.
I like this product so much I actually think I’m going to purchase some more colours!
