It genuinely feels like a million years since I last wrote a favourites post with all my favourite beauty products. I love writing these posts but honestly, recently my heart just hasn’t been in them. Not everyone has enough money to buy new products all the time. And I am one of those people that likes to use products to the bitter end, so I don’t really switch it up that frequently. So, I haven’t been in the position to write a favourites post recently. However, over this past month I have really managed to settle down and start falling in love with some products again.
It all started with my skin going majorly downhill. I think everyone goes through periods of bad skin, especially as women with millions of hormones surging around our bodies. But this was of a whole different order. My skin was dry, then it was oily, then I broke out, then the breakouts started and my pigmentation went all over the place. It’s been intense. So, I’ve been trying to reverse the havoc reaped on my face, and, honestly the difference is amazing.
I have been trying to get into a regimented beauty routine that covers everything; skincare, haircare and makeup. You know that feeling when you’ve fully pampered yourself and you feel like a Queen? I want that everyday. I mean, don’t we all? So recently, I have been investing a lot of time into my beauty routine. Which is why I decided to make this favourites a beauty focus.
So, here are all the products I have been loving during this complete beauty revamp!
So, some of you may have noticed already, but recently I was given the opportunity to work with one of my favourite skincare brands; Green Keratin. I promise this post is not sponsored, I’m just genuinely very excited because I’m also writing blog posts over on their website, which you can check out here! Even before I started working with them, I was in love with their products. So this is really a dream come true. I have never gone out of my way to use purely organic products, but these changed the game for me. And, once I started using them, I really noticed a difference in the quality of my skin. Anyway, I loved some of the products I wrote about so much, that I decided to include them here!
Manuka Re-Balancing Mask
I fell in love with this face mask the moment it touched my skin. This mask is made with Kaolin and Bentonite Clay, which are fabulous for soaking up all of your impurities and tightening your pores. Seeing as I have the biggest pores on the planet, clay masks are one of my favourite types of mask. However, as someone with very dry, sensitive skin, sometimes clay masks can have a tendency to just suck all the moisture out of my face.
But I didn’t have any of those problems with this mask because the formula also contains Argan and Shea Butter. These are both super moisturising ingredients and you can really see their presence in the mask itself. Not only does it look like a light, whipped consistency in the pot, but also, once it’s applied to your face and started to dry, it doesn’t make your skin feel too tight.
This has definitely become one of my favourite face masks recently, and I definitely recommend you give it a go. If you are interested in reading a bit more about this mask, then check out my blog post on the Green Keratin website here!
HA Gel Serum
This is another Green Keratin must-have product that I think everyone should try. I have never really been an avid user of serums. But, like I said, I have really been investing time into my skincare. So, when Green Keratin sent me this serum, I was both skeptical and excited.
The great thing about serums is that they actually contain less ingredients than your average moisturiser. This means they have a higher concentration of active ingredients and less fillers that don’t actually have any benefits for your skin. This means your skin is soaking up more of the good stuff! This serum contains 20% Hyaluronic Acid Gel which is clinical strength. Hyaluronic Acid Gel is actually able to bind up to 1000 times it’s own volume in water, making this serum perfect for people with dry skin.
This serum seriously makes my skin feel so soft and smooth, so it’s perfect for using before you pop on your makeup. If you want to know more about this serum, then check out my blog post here!
Alpha H Liquid Gold
This is a cult beauty product for a reason. And let me tell you, this is just about the most effective skincare product I have ever used in my entire life. This is always my go-to toner when my skin starts to break out. I don’t have massively blemish prone skin, but if you do, you should seriously consider investing in some Liquid Gold. And it is an investment. This is not a cheap product, I only have the sample size, but I will definitely purchase the full-size product when I have run out. Because this isn’t the kind of toner you use every day, it lasts a long time, therefore making the investment more reasonable.
Whenever I use this toner, I always feel like my skin is immediately a million times less pigmented and so much smoother. It really helps to clear out my skin and get it back to looking it’s best.
Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula
I bought this body butter after hearing every blogger and their mother talking about how amazing it is. And now, I am fully on board with the hype. This is without a doubt one of the best body moisturisers I have ever used. But, in the beginning I wasn’t so excited about it. Honestly, at first I was pretty overwhelmed by the Cocoa scent as it is very strong. Once you are used to it it’s fine, but don’t say I didn’t warn you. If you are on a diet and can’t handle the chocolaty smell, or even if you’re just not into strongly scented things, then I would recommend buying the unscented version.
This is such a lovely body butter to use as soon as you get out of the shower or the bath to lock in all that moisture. You will honestly be so surprised by how soft your skin feels. This is an amazing budget beauty buy that you should definitely consider getting.
Rosie Amazing Radiance Body Glow
I actually spoke a bit about this product in my Getting the Perfect Summer Glow post, so if you want to have a read of that then make sure you check it out! As a naturally pale person, I need all the help I can get in the glow department. The Rosie body glow cream is perfect for when I haven’t had the chance the fake tan and I don’t want to look completely white. This product has actually become such a life saver, especially when going on nights out.
This cream is slightly tinted and has sparkly flecks in it. It can be put all over the body and it smells amazing!
Fudge Clean Blonde Violet Toning Shampoo
I have had SUCH a nightmare with my hair recently. You know when you’re at the hairdressers and they ask if you like it, and you say yes but when you get home you cry? Yeah, that happened to me a couple of weeks ago. I have spent so long trying to get my hair to a really cool-toned grey colour. The hairdressers I went to basically just made it way more brassy than it has ever been.
But, this shampoo literally saved me. This shampoo has completely toned my hair back to grey. Although the hairdresser will still need to work some magic, my hair looks so much better now!
Batiste Texturising Spray
I don’t usually use a lot of products in my hair. But recently I have been leaning towards this texturising spray a lot. This is perfect for adding a bit of bounce and volume to your hair when it just seems a bit flat. It smells absolutely gorgeous and definitely puts some life back into my hair! This spray is also great for helping to hold any hair styles. Its great because it doesn’t make it look overloaded like hairspray can sometimes do.
What were some of your favourites beauty products over the summer? I would love to know down in the comments!
